The standout feature of the new Oura Ring 5 is its compact size. Measuring just over 6mm in width and 2.3mm in thickness, the Oura Ring 5 is 40% smaller than its predecessor, the Ring 4. This latest model retains its titanium construction and boasts a more refined curvature for enhanced comfort. It is available in sizes 6 through 13 and offers IP68 ingress protection.

Oura has introduced updated sensors equipped with more powerful LEDs to improve readings and signal quality. Significantly, Oura claims greater consistency in readings across various skin tones and finger types. In addition to standard health metrics such as heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, sleep, and stress monitoring, the brand has added a new "Health Radar system" that enables continuous tracking of key biometrics, allowing for the detection of health changes and trends.

Another noteworthy feature is the introduction of blood pressure signal monitoring during sleep and an analysis of nighttime breathing patterns. This functionality will be available to Oura app users in the United States, India, and the United Arab Emirates starting in June. Users in these regions will also receive insights regarding GLP-1 for medication management and weight tracking.

Oura Ring 5 health and activity tracking
In terms of activity tracking, Ring 5 now accommodates over 50 health metrics, including heart rate, pace, and distance for activities such as running, cycling, and strength training. However, users must initiate workout tracking via the app. As with previous versions of the Oura Ring, a membership subscription ($5.99 per month or $69.99 per year) is required to access all features.

The Oura Ring 5 features a battery life estimated between 6 to 9 days, depending on usage. According to Oura, charging takes up to 80 minutes. A new $99 charging case, sold separately, supports wireless charging and provides up to one month of additional battery life to recharge the Ring 5 on the go.

The Oura Ring 5 is available in two pricing tiers based on the finish. The standard Silver and Black versions are priced at $399/€429, while the premium options—Gold, Stealth, and Brushed Silver—are available for $499/€529. Consumers can purchase the Oura Ring 5 through Oura’s online store and various retail partners, including Amazon.
