This year, the Motorola Razr series sees the introduction of a significant innovation: the brand's first book-style foldable phone. Nevertheless, the Razr name still evokes thoughts of flip-style devices. Motorola has updated its lineup with three new models: the Razr 70, Razr 70+, and Razr 70 Ultra. In the US, these will be known as the Razr 2026, Razr+ 2026, and Razr Ultra 2026. Let's take a closer look at the flagship model.

The Motorola Razr 70 Ultra (or Razr Ultra 2026) serves as an iterative upgrade, featuring the same Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset but with an overclocked version that has a CPU speed of 4.47GHz compared to 4.32GHz. This means it still lags behind this year’s other releases in terms of performance.
In terms of design, the new Ultra maintains the same dimensions as its predecessor, utilizing a 7-inch 165Hz LTPO main display that is now somewhat brighter, peaking at 5,000 nits, an increase from 4,500 nits. The 4-inch cover display remains unchanged, also operating at 165Hz LTPO.
The battery has seen a slight increase in capacity, now boasting 5,000mAh—up by 300mAh from the 2025 model. It also supports fast charging at 68W wired and 30W wireless, surpassing Samsung's offerings, particularly the Galaxy Z Flip.

The camera specifications appear familiar: a primary 50MP sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP selfie camera. However, the main sensor now features a LOFIC capability, and we will need to test its impact on image quality.
This upgrade comes at a higher price point of $1,500 in the US, reflecting a $200 increase from the launch price of the 2025 Ultra. European prices are set at £1,200 and €1,400. Are you considering the Razr 70 Ultra / Razr Ultra 2026?
In a notable shift, Motorola has introduced the Razr 70+ this year (as well as the Razr+ 2026). Last year, the lineup only included the US model, the Razr+ 2025. However, it's worth mentioning that the 70+ closely resembles its predecessor.
One significant change is the increase in battery size to 4,500mAh (up from 4,000mAh), while other specifications, such as charging speed (45W/15W) and the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, remain unchanged. The main camera features a compact 50MP sensor, and the secondary module has transitioned to a 50MP ultra-wide lens, replacing last year’s 2x/47mm telephoto lens.

Motorola Razr 70+ (Moto Razr+ 2026)
The retail price for the Motorola Razr+ 2026 in the US is $1,100, which is $100 more than the previous year's model. In Europe, it will cost £1,000 or €1,150. Given the minimal updates, will you consider purchasing the Razr 70+, particularly since many regions did not see the Razr 2025 Plus?
Lastly, the Motorola Razr 70 introduces new capabilities with a different chipset, but don’t get too excited about the specs. The Dimensity 7450X is merely a minor refresh of the 7400X used in the 2025 model. The battery capacity has also been upgraded slightly to 4,800mAh (an increase of 300mAh), with charging specs remaining unchanged at 30W/15W.

Motorola Razr 70 (Moto Razr 2026)
One of the most notable changes in this basic model is the introduction of an ultra-wide camera featuring a 50MP sensor (an upgrade from the previous 13MP sensor), similar to the configurations in the Razr+ and Razr Ultra. Although subtle, this is a welcome improvement.
Motorola plans to price the Razr 2026 at $800, another $100 increase compared to the model from the previous year. In Europe, it will be available for £800 and €870. Are you prepared to invest this amount in the Motorola Razr 70?
