Nintendo Switch 2 Price Increase: What You Need to Know

Source: Date:

The Nintendo Switch 2 launched last year at a price of $449.99 in the US, and starting September 1, it will see a $50 price increase, bringing the total to $499.99. The company attributes this change to "market conditions."

In Canada, the Switch 2 will also experience a price increase of CAD 50, while in Europe, the cost will rise by €40. Japan will see an even earlier implementation of this hike, beginning May 25.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is getting more expensive

Interestingly, Nintendo is projecting a decline in Switch 2 sales over the next year, likely linked to the price increase. In the first complete fiscal year since its release, Nintendo sold 19.86 million Switch 2 units, surpassing the original Switch's first-year sales of 15.05 million. For the upcoming year, the company anticipates selling only 16.5 million units of the Switch 2.
