In celebration of Mother's Day, AT&T has released intriguing data indicating that Americans are increasingly opting to text their mothers rather than call them, with texting occurring three times more frequently on this special occasion.
A significant 75% of Americans now favor texting over calling, sending an average of three texts for every one phone call made to their mothers. Houston, San Antonio, and Chicago rank as the top three cities for texting and calling mothers in 2024 and 2025, according to the data.
Leading the pack is Houston, which boasts nearly three million more texts and calls to mothers than any other city. Notably, six of the top ten cities that prioritize connecting with moms are located in the Southern United States, as reported by AT&T.
