Introducing OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra: A Gaming Powerhouse with Dimensity 9500 and Massive Battery

The OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra gaming phone has officially launched, accompanied by a new gaming controller specifically designed for this device. In contrast to its predecessors, the Ace 6 and Ace 6T, the Ultra is equipped with a MediaTek chipset, the Dimensity 9500, which is capable of achieving 165fps in popular games such as League of Legends: Wild Rift, Clash of Clans, Soul Knight, and Subway Surfers.

With a Mali-G1 Ultra GPU featuring 12 cores, the Dimensity 9500 chip boasts more than double the ray tracing performance and a 33% increase in overall capabilities compared to its predecessor. Its octa-core CPU offers a 32% performance boost for single-core tasks thanks to the ARM C1-Ultra core.

This phone can sustain Delta Force gameplay at 165fps for three continuous hours with no drops in performance, while maintaining an average power consumption of just 4.6W.

The device features an impressive 8,600mAh battery—the second largest ever on a OnePlus phone. This dual-cell design can support up to 7.4 hours of gaming at 165fps and up to 13.6 hours of navigation. It is rated for a lifespan of five years.

The phone supports bypass charging, enabling it to run cooler and preserve battery life when connected to external power. With 120W fast charging capability, it can charge to 53% in just 20 minutes and reach full capacity in 49 minutes.

OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra boasts a 6.78” OLED display (BOE) with a resolution of 1,272 x 2,772 pixels. This 10-bit panel supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+, covering 100% of the DCI-P3 spectrum. It can achieve a peak brightness of 3,600 nits at 25% APL and incorporates a mix of DC dimming (above 70 nits) and high-frequency PWM dimming (below 70 nits).

The device is compatible with the newly introduced gaming controller, which is sold separately. This controller features four back buttons (with a response time of 1.8ms) but lacks joysticks or face buttons.

In addition, the controller enhances signal strength with an extra antenna, includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB-C charging port at the bottom. It also has a magnetic attachment point for a separately sold cooling fan. The controller's retractable design allows compatibility with other smartphones as well.

Additionally, the Ace 6 Ultra is equipped with a 50MP main camera featuring a 1/1.55” sensor and an f/1.8 lens with optical image stabilization (OIS). It also has an 8MP ultra-wide camera with a f/2.2 16mm lens. The front-facing camera has a 16MP sensor, mirroring the focal length of the main rear camera (23mm). The rear camera supports 4K video recording at up to 60fps, while the selfie camera supports 1080p recording at 30fps.

The phone's body is made from an aluminum alloy, and its screen is protected by tempered glass. The rear is either additional tempered glass (for the Ace Awakening colorway) or standard glass (for the Metal Storm variant).

Audio is enhanced with symmetrically-placed stereo speakers and an X-axis linear motor for haptic feedback. An ultrasonic fingerprint reader is embedded under the display. However, the USB-C port at the bottom is limited to USB 2.0 functionality, which means no video output—a missed opportunity for a gaming device.

The device has an IP66 rating for splash resistance, IP68 for submersion, and IP69K for high-pressure, high-temperature water jets.

The OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra is available in China starting today, with a limited-time discount of CNY 300 on all variants. The gaming controller is available for pre-order at CNY 450 (approximately $65).
