Notably, the Fang Cheng Bao brand is typically linked with rugged off-road vehicles, suggesting that the launch of the Formula lineup may indicate a strategic shift for the company.

Although BYD did not provide extensive details, they revealed some pivotal specifications. The Formula SL is constructed on an 800-volt architecture and features a tri-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain, achieving a peak output of 1,000 hp. This specification aligns with offerings from competitors such as Tesla and the Lucid Air.

Dimensionally, the Formula SL is comparable to its rivals, sporting a wheelbase of 122.1 inches and an overall length of 196 inches.

The vehicle is equipped with BYD's proprietary DiSus-M magnetic suspension system, enhancing both comfort and safety, and is typically found in the company’s higher-end models.

The Formula SL is just one of several Formula-branded vehicles; BYD has also rolled out a complete lineup that includes a Formula X supercar, the Formula S sports car, and a Formula S GT—a shooting brake variant of the standard Formula S.

Currently, there is no specified release timeframe, and should the vehicle make its debut, it is likely to be limited to the Chinese market initially.
