Tesla has officially launched the Robotaxi app for Android, following the release of its iOS counterpart in September of last year. The app is now accessible through the Google Play Store.
The Robotaxi app enables users to request rides from Tesla's fleet of "Robotaxis" in areas where the service is available. Once inside a Robotaxi, users can utilize the app to manage climate settings, adjust seat positions, and control music playback. The app also allows users to monitor their journey, modify the drop-off location, or instruct the vehicle to pull over. Payments can be made via Google Pay.

Currently, the app is exclusively available in the United States, as the Robotaxi service is operational only in select cities: Austin, Dallas, and Houston, all located in Texas. It's noteworthy that in Dallas and Houston, the service coverage area is relatively limited.
In Austin, approximately 40 Robotaxis are in operation, though only 12 of these function in driverless mode; the remainder have human safety monitors seated in the front. The service also extends to the Bay Area in California; however, Tesla lacks an autonomous driving license in that region, meaning its fleet requires drivers to oversee the Full Self-Driving (FSD) feature.
