In October, Google announced plans to enhance Google Wallet on Android by incorporating live flight tracking updates directly on the home screen via a persistent notification. This feature is now available.
Live updates appear when you have added a boarding pass to Google Wallet. Previously, this integration provided notifications for updates such as boarding times and gate changes. Additionally, Google Wallet utilizes its Gmail integration to remind users to check in if they haven't added a boarding pass for any flight bookings found in their emails.
Google Wallet Flight Tracking
For users running Android 16, a persistent notification will now appear shortly before takeoff. This notification displays your estimated time of arrival, along with a progress bar that indicates the flight duration and the time remaining.
Tapping the notification directs you to the ticket page, which includes a link to Google Flights at the bottom, providing web search results.
