Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon was recently seen in Korea meeting with Samsung executives regarding the potential manufacturing of chips using the 2nm process. This raises the possibility that Qualcomm will partner with Samsung to produce the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 System-on-Chips (SoCs).
At CES in January, Amon mentioned ongoing discussions with Samsung, and it appears that negotiations are still in progress. Should this partnership materialize, it would mark Qualcomm's return to Samsung for fabrication for the first time since 2022, when the company transitioned its production to TSMC.

Meanwhile, Samsung has reportedly regained its standing with Qualcomm by addressing longstanding yield and overheating issues that previously prompted Qualcomm to switch to TSMC. Furthermore, the recent price increases from TSMC may also influence Qualcomm's decision.
