Rumors about Apple's testing of a 200MP rear camera for the iPhone have been circulating for some time, with the first leak surfacing in May last year. Recently, a tipster has indicated that the iPhone featuring this advanced 200MP sensor may not be launched until 2028.
According to Digital Chat Station, Apple is currently evaluating a 200MP periscope telephoto camera for the iPhone. However, the company may require several more years to bring this technology to market.

This supports a recent note from Morgan Stanley, which asserts that an iPhone equipped with a 200MP camera is unlikely to be released before 2028.
The forthcoming model is anticipated to be named the iPhone 21, as Apple is rumored to introduce the iPhone 20 branding next year to celebrate the device's 20th anniversary.
Earlier, Digital Chat Station also mentioned that Apple is evaluating a 1/1.12-inch 200MP sensor for the iPhone.
