YouTube Premium, the popular subscription service offering an ad-free experience, has officially increased its prices in the United States. This adjustment has already impacted new subscribers, with existing users expected to see the changes in early June.
The updated pricing for the individual plan is now $15.99 per month and $159.99 annually, a notable increase from the previous rates of $13.99 and $139.99. The family plan has also seen a jump, now costing $26.99 per month, up from $22.99. Additionally, the student plan has been raised to $8.99, compared to the former price of $7.99.
Even the recently introduced YouTube Premium Lite has experienced a price increase, now priced at $8.99 per month, up from $7.99. It's important to note that while the full YouTube Premium subscription offers benefits such as an ad-free experience, background play, downloads, and access to YouTube Music, the Lite version excludes YouTube Music and still allows ads on music videos, Shorts, and search results.
