Oppo Launches New A6 Series Phones Featuring 7,000mAh Battery and Advanced Features

Oppo continues to expand its A6 lineup by introducing four additional models, making their naming conventions increasingly complex. However, the new offerings certainly bring exciting specifications.

The star of the show is the new Oppo A6 (model number PLS120), featuring a slightly smaller 6.57-inch 1080p+ AMOLED display—a noticeable upgrade from the 6.75-inch 720p+ IPS LCD found on the global version. This display includes an under-display optical fingerprint reader, replacing the older side-mounted sensor.

One of the standout features across the A6 models is the impressive 7,000mAh battery. The new A6 model supports 80W SuperVOOC charging and 44W PPS, enhancing the previous global version, which offered 45W SuperVOOC and 33W PPS.

Powered by the Dimensity 6300 chipset, the device comes in 8/256GB, 12/256GB, and 12/512GB configurations utilizing LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage, with a microSD slot for expansion. Additionally, the phone boasts IP68 and IP69 ratings for advanced water resistance, a feature also present in the global A6 version.

Camera specifications include a 50MP rear camera paired with a 2MP secondary lens; the front-facing camera has been upgraded to 16MP, up from 8MP. However, video recording remains limited to 1080p at 60fps.

The second model, Oppo A6s, appears to take a step back from the A6. While it retains the 6.75-inch 720p+ LCD, its selfie camera is downgraded to 8MP, and charging speed is reduced to 45W SuperVOOC for its 7,000mAh battery—down from 80W in the global A6s.

Like its predecessor, the A6s uses the Dimensity 6300 chipset with configurations of 8/256GB and 12/256GB, along with a microSD slot.

The similarity between the new A6s and the global version raises questions about the differences, which seem unclear.

The Oppo A6i+ is another addition to the lineup but shares features with the global A6 and A6s, even sharing the model number PLT120.

Lastly, we have the Oppo A6v, bearing the model number PLT130. This device features a lower 5MP selfie camera, a smaller 6,500mAh battery with slower 45W SuperVOOC charging, and a reduced water resistance rating of IP64. Essentially, it mirrors the A6t model rather than introducing new features.
