Have you ever joined a WhatsApp group only to find that you've missed a barrage of earlier messages? WhatsApp has now unveiled a new Group Message History feature aimed at eradicating that fear of missing out.

This innovative feature allows group admins and members to share recent messages with newly added participants. According to WhatsApp, the shared message history will remain end-to-end encrypted.

WhatsApp introduces new Group Message History feature

When adding new members to a group chat, a pop-up will appear, providing the option to share recent message history. Admins and members can select to share between 25 and 100 recent messages with the new participants.

Importantly, admins still retain the option to disable message history sharing within the group settings. When recent messages are shared, all group members will receive notifications, which include details such as sender information and timestamps.

WhatsApp has confirmed that the rollout of the Group Message History feature is occurring gradually.
