Android 17 Beta 1 set to roll out soon, Google confirms

Users who are already participating in the Android Beta program will automatically receive the Android 17 Beta 1 update when it becomes available. According to reports from last year, the Android 17 update is internally codenamed ‘Cinnamon Bun.’

For those who prefer not to install the Android 17 beta, exiting the beta program is necessary. To do this without data loss, users must opt out now, disregard any notification labeled ‘Downgrade,’ and wait for the stable public release of Android 16 QPR3.

If the Android 17 beta is installed and users later decide to opt out without erasing their device, they will need to endure the beta cycle, which is anticipated to conclude around June.

The stable version of Android 17 is expected to be released in Q2 2026, introducing a range of improvements, new gaming functionalities, and additional enhancements.
