AT&T has announced a smartphone designed specifically for children aged 12 and under. The AT&T amiGO Jr. Phone, developed in collaboration with Samsung, is essentially a customized version of the Galaxy A17 (5G).
The standout feature is the amiGO app, which provides parents with remote access and oversight of their child’s phone. The app is compatible with both Android and iOS devices.

This app enables parents to monitor their child’s real-time location. They can establish Safe Zones to receive instant notifications if their child ventures outside predetermined areas. Additionally, the app tracks the child's physical activity with a step counter and displays the phone’s battery status, ensuring parents can remind their child to charge their phone before leaving for school.
Moreover, the application allows parents to manage screen time and app usage, featuring a School Mode and schedules that impose specific restrictions during designated times.
Parental Control Features on the AT&T amiGO Jr. Phone
If you prefer not to give your child a smartphone—even one as restricted as the amiGO Jr. Phone—you can opt for the AT&T amiGO Jr. Watch 2. This device is more limited in functionality but still provides location tracking and enables calls and texts with 30 pre-approved contacts.
