Apple's latest entry-level iPad was released in March of last year, featuring the A16 Bionic chip and 6GB of RAM. Recent rumors from a reliable Japanese source suggest that a new entry-level iPad will be officially unveiled this spring.
This upcoming device is expected to maintain the same design as its predecessor but will be upgraded with the A18 chip—first introduced in the iPhone 16—and will come with 8GB of RAM. This increase in RAM is significant, as it is believed to be the minimum required to support Apple Intelligence.

The rumored changes may be limited to the processor upgrade and the additional RAM. For those interested, our in-depth review of the current model offers further insights.
