Audi is implementing significant updates to its upcoming electric models, the 2027 Audi A6 e-tron and 2027 Audi Q6 e-tron. These revisions reflect the German automaker's commitment to addressing consumer preferences. In recent years, automotive manufacturers have favored touch screens for controls, a trend that many drivers have found cumbersome while driving. Responding to this feedback, Audi is reintroducing physical buttons and scroll wheels on the steering wheel to enhance usability.

The interiors of these new models have been redesigned for clarity and ease of use. Audi borrowed a screen layout from the smaller Q3 model, featuring fewer icons for a cleaner interface, allowing drivers to quickly access necessary features without distractions. The digital dashboard offers three distinct views: classic round gauges, a large navigation map, or a display for monitoring safety sensors.

The high-performance Audi S6 e-tron introduces a unique "Dynamic Plus" mode, which essentially functions as a drift mode. Utilizing an all-wheel-drive system and advanced braking mechanisms, this feature enables controlled sideways motion. Additionally, a specialized racing display with a lap timer is included in the cockpit. For everyday driving, an AI assistant can automatically select the optimal driving mode based on your acceleration patterns.

One of the most notable technical upgrades is the enhancement of the braking system. Audi is incorporating advanced software to enhance the driving experience. The voice assistant has been upgraded to utilize ChatGPT technology, which allows for more natural interactions. For charging periods, Audi has introduced a "Power Nap" mode. With the A6 e-tron measuring approximately 16.17 feet and the Q6 e-tron about 15.65 feet in length, there is ample room to relax. The vehicle dims the lights, plays soft music, and even initiates a massage feature while the battery charges. Additionally, "experience worlds" adjust cabin lighting and climate settings to suit your mood, whether you seek to feel energized or relaxed.

The 2027 Audi A6 e-tron and Q6 e-tron are expected to be available at dealerships in late 2026, with starting prices of £48,600 for the A6 e-tron and £46,900 for the entry-level Q6 e-tron.
