Motorola Moto G Play (2026) Review: A Resilient Return with Solid Specs

Source: Date:

Motorola missed a generation in 2025, but the Moto G Play makes a comeback in 2026, aptly named the Moto G Play (2026).

Launched alongside the Moto G (2026) in November, it shares most of its specifications, including the display, chipset, and battery capacity. The key differences lie in storage options—128GB for the G and 64GB for the G Play—and charging speeds, with the Moto G (2026) supporting 30W and the G Play (2026) at 18W.

The camera setup also varies, as the Moto G (2026) features a 50MP main sensor compared to the 32MP on the G Play, alongside a secondary 2MP macro lens and a high-resolution 32MP selfie camera, while the G Play has an 8MP front camera.

The Moto G Play (2026) is available in a single color, Pantone Tapestry—a playful blue hue that we find appealing, complemented by a cyan-accented user interface.

This phone features a classic Moto leather-like back panel that feels pleasant to the touch. While the plastic frame reflects cost-effectiveness, it does not compromise on quality.
