Review of the Motorola Moto G Play (2026): Affordable Features and Performance

Motorola skipped a generation in 2025, but the Moto G Play is back in 2026. Introducing the aptly named Moto G Play (2026).

Launched alongside the Moto G (2026) in November, the Moto G Play (2026) shares many specifications with its sibling, including the display, chipset, and battery capacity. However, the Moto G features 128GB of storage compared to the Play's 64GB. Additionally, the charging speeds differ, with the Moto G (2026) supporting 30W fast charging, while the Moto G Play (2026) offers 18W.

The camera system also varies, as the Moto G (2026) is equipped with a 50MP main sensor and an extra 2MP macro lens, alongside a high-resolution 32MP selfie camera, compared to the Play's 32MP main camera and 8MP selfie unit.

The Moto G Play (2026) is available in a single color: Pantone Tapestry. This playful blue hue is complemented by a cyan-accented user interface.

The device features a classic Moto leather-like back panel, which provides a pleasant tactile experience. While the plastic frame highlights its cost-effectiveness, it maintains a quality feel that does not seem cheap.

Included in the box is a single USB cable, consistent with what is offered for the Moto G (2026) and the Moto G Power (2026).
