Apple has recently developed a new AI app called "Veritas" for iPhones to aid in the advancement of the next-generation Siri, which is powered by LLM technology. This app, resembling ChatGPT, allows the engineering team to test and refine new features for Siri.

The Veritas app enables testing of cutting-edge Siri functionalities, such as personalized information searches across various data types like songs, emails, photos, and videos. It also has the capability to perform in-app actions like photo editing, showcasing a significant upgrade in Siri's capabilities.
Currently usable for internal purposes only, the Veritas app is not intended for public release. Despite its similarity to ChatGPT, Apple has expressed reservations about entering the AI chatbot market, hence keeping Veritas for in-house testing exclusively.
Although initially planned for launch this spring, the updated Siri release has been pushed back to March of next year. Meanwhile, Apple is in discussions with leading AI entities like OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic for collaboration in enhancing Siri's capabilities.
Moreover, Apple is looking to integrate its advanced AI technology not only into Siri but also across other devices such as home automation systems, the HomePod speaker, and Apple TV.
