Svolt Begins Mass Production of 100 kWh Semi-Solid-State Battery for High-Voltage EVs

Source: Date:

Introduction: Svolt has officially moved its semi-solid-state battery into mass production, signaling a major step forward in next-generation EV energy storage. The new 100 kWh pack, called Dragon Armor, is designed for 900-volt architectures and focuses on faster charging, improved safety, and longer lifespan.

Svolt, which operates as an independent battery supplier while maintaining close links with GWM, says the battery uses a hybrid design built around three chemical systems. The company views this mixed-chemistry approach as a practical long-term path for future battery development.

One of the battery’s key advancements is a new production method that enables cell-level packaging during manufacturing. This helps improve charging safety and allows the pack to support 6C charging speeds. According to Svolt, the battery can add around 500 km of range in only 12 minutes.

The company is also emphasizing the pack’s durability. Svolt claims the Dragon Armor battery meets impact protection levels three times higher than the requirements set by Chinese government standards.

In terms of longevity, Svolt says the battery is engineered to last for at least 1 million kilometers, based on 3,000 charging cycles.
