Apple Creator Studio Gets Major AI Assistant Upgrade in Largest Release Since Launch

Source: Date:

Introduction

Apple Creator Studio is receiving its most substantial update since launch, bringing AI assistants, deeper creative integration, and a broad set of new tools across its professional and productivity apps. The release is designed to make video editing, music production, image creation, and document workflows more connected, intelligent, and efficient for subscribers on Mac and iPad.

Apple says the new Creator Studio update is its most exciting release yet. Final Cut Pro for Mac now includes MotionVFX integration, giving editors access to thousands of templates, graphics, titles, transitions, and visual effects tools. The app also gains the Content Hub with Apple-curated stock video, photos, and backgrounds. Editors can open images from the timeline in Pixelmator Pro and have changes automatically returned to the project, or generate images directly from text prompts. Additional improvements include expanded keyframe easing controls, more flexible clip placement away from the primary storyline, and support for 23 new transcription languages.

Motion also receives MotionVFX plug-ins, adding tools for cinematic color grading, 3D camera tracking, and one-click selection. The app supports text-to-image generation, Pixelmator Pro round-trip editing, and a new Displacement filter. Compressor can now encode Cinematic mode video captured on the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo. Pixelmator Pro introduces Generate Fill, allowing users to select an area of an image, describe the desired change, and let the software blend lighting, perspective, and texture into the surrounding scene. The result can be upscaled with Super Resolution and placed into a new masked layer for further editing.

Logic Pro on Mac and iPad adopts a new Liquid Glass design. On Mac, a beta assistant powered by Apple and third-party models can help users begin a new song, set up vocal tracks from a simple prompt, or refine an existing project. The redesigned Browser combines loops, instruments, effect patches, and a Splice library in one place. On-device music understanding can automatically analyze and tag sounds, making it easier to find matching audio. Logic Pro also adds enhanced Stem Splitter controls for isolating, replacing, or rebalancing drums, a new Producer Pack from Sergio George, and Voice Memo Studio Sound for reducing room noise and ambience from recordings made on supported iPhones.

Keynote, Pages, and Numbers receive AI assistants built on Apple and OpenAI models. The assistants understand document context and can help design, animate, and refine slides in Keynote, draft and reorganize text in Pages, and calculate, visualize, and structure data in Numbers. Numbers can also recommend chart types and create tables using broader knowledge. New Model Context Protocol support allows external AI agents to read content, make edits, and perform automated actions in all three apps on Mac. The apps also gain stock video in the Content Hub, new templates, and fresh themes. Keynote adds support for the open, JSON-based Keynote Interchange Format using the .keyx extension. Freeform gains text styles and custom board background colors, with Pixelmator Pro image editing and editable shapes generated from text descriptions arriving in December.

The updates are expected to arrive in November through the App Store and will be free for existing Creator Studio subscribers. AI assistants are limited to US English and require an Apple Intelligence-compatible device. The Logic Pro assistant requires macOS 27 Golden Gate, while the assistants in Keynote, Pages, and Numbers require iOS 27, iPadOS 27, or macOS 27. MCP support is Mac-only and requires macOS 27. New subscribers can pay $12.99 per month or $129 per year after a one-month free trial. Buyers of a new Mac or qualifying iPad can receive three months free. College students and educators pay $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year, and up to six family members can share one subscription.
