vivo X500 Unboxing and Hands-On: A Premium All-Rounder With a Full Retail Box

Source: Date:

The vivo X500 series has officially begun its international rollout, and the standard vivo X500 is positioning itself as the balanced choice for buyers who want flagship-style hardware without stepping into Pro territory. Its launch, however, will be more limited than the higher-end models.

Currently, the regular X500 is listed in parts of Southeast Asia, while European customers are expected to sit this one out. India is next on the timeline, with a November debut anticipated to clarify which versions will be sold there.

A complete retail package

Even though it is not the Pro model, the vivo X500 arrives with a surprisingly complete box. Buyers get a protective case, a USB-A to USB-C cable, and a 90W charger, making the package feel more traditional and user-friendly than many recent premium phones.

The bundled case follows vivo's familiar design language. It is flexible, color-matched, and practical, adding grip while helping protect the handset from everyday knocks. It is one of those extras that still feels genuinely useful rather than token.

Size, display, and feel

In terms of dimensions, the X500 lands between the compact Pro option and the larger Pro Max. Its 6.59-inch 144Hz AMOLED display is framed by narrow bezels, helping keep the overall footprint manageable. Despite that, the phone feels solid and dense in hand, sharing the sturdy impression of the rest of the series. At just over 8mm thick, it is not ultra-thin, but that also helps it feel reassuringly built.

Battery capacity is another highlight. The X500 carries a large 7,500mAh battery, which should be a major draw for users who value long endurance alongside a fast display.

Design impressions

Visually, the X500 blends a clean, iPhone-like frame with vivo's signature circular camera module. The greyish-black finish is understated, though perhaps a little safe. The matte texture feels premium to the touch, yet it does show smudges more easily than expected.

Pricing and availability

In markets such as Malaysia, the vivo X500 is priced at MYR 4,699 (about $1,149) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version. The 12GB/512GB model rises to MYR 5,299 (around $1,296), placing it firmly in premium territory despite its non-Pro status.
