Introduction

Huawei has expanded its Pura 90 lineup in China with the official launch of the Pura 90 Plus. Positioned between the standard Pura 90 and the higher-end Pura 90 Pro, the new model focuses on flagship-level imaging, a large 1-inch-type main sensor, and the latest Kirin 9025 chipset.

The headline feature of the Pura 90 Plus is its 50MP main camera, which uses a 1-inch-type sensor and supports an f/1.4-4.0 variable aperture. It is paired with a 48MP telephoto camera offering up to 4x optical zoom, an f/2.1 aperture, and macro shooting capabilities. Huawei also includes a 40MP ultrawide camera with a 13mm equivalent focal length.

In terms of design, the Pura 90 Plus blends the rounded frame style seen on the Pura 80 Pro with the more distinctive color options introduced across the Pura 90 series. The phone is offered in Sunset Purple, Dawn Gold, Snow White, and Obsidian Black.

The front of the device features a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 2,848 × 1,276 pixels and an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz. Huawei says the screen is protected by second-generation Kunlun Glass and includes a 13MP front camera inside a punch-hole cutout.

Powering the Pura 90 Plus is the Kirin 9025 chipset, which Huawei describes as an upgraded version of the Kirin 9020 found in the Pura 80 series, delivering a claimed 20% performance improvement. The processor is paired with 12GB of RAM and storage options of 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB.

On the software side, the phone runs HarmonyOS 7 and includes Huawei’s Celia voice assistant. Additional features include IP68/69 ingress protection, satellite connectivity, and a 5,700mAh battery supporting 100W wired charging and 80W wireless charging.

In China, the Pura 90 Plus starts at CNY 5,499 (approximately $825) for the 256GB storage variant, while the top-end 1TB model is priced at CNY 6,999 (approximately $1,050). Open sales are set to begin on October 31.
