Vivo X500s Display Leak Points to 2K 144Hz Screen as Testing Begins

Vivo recently rolled out the X500, X500 Pro, and X500 Pro Max to global markets, but the company is already said to be working on the next addition to the series. A new leak suggests that a compact flagship-style “s” model is now in development and being tested with a high-end display.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the engineering sample features a 6.85-inch flat screen with 2K+ resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, and slim equal-width bezels on all sides. The device is reportedly being positioned as a “large-screen all-rounder,” with commenters speculating it could be the upcoming Vivo X500s.

If accurate, the X500s would offer a slightly larger and sharper display than the Vivo X300s, which launched in March with a 6.78-inch 1260x2800 LTPO AMOLED panel and a 144Hz refresh rate. The leaked display specifications also closely match those of the X500 Pro Max, suggesting Vivo may be reusing its flagship-grade screen in another model.

The report also hints at a possible launch window. Since the X300s was introduced alongside the X300 Ultra, the X500s may debut together with the rumored X500 Ultra, which is expected to arrive in China between March and April. The Ultra is also rumored to feature a similar 6.85-inch flat 2K 144Hz display. Details on the X500s chipset, camera setup, and battery capacity remain unclear for now.
