Samsung is bringing its first clip-on earbuds to the United States. The Galaxy Buds On, introduced earlier this month, will be available in early November for $229. Samsung says the open-style design is meant for users who want hands-free convenience while staying aware of their surroundings, and the company plans to launch them in Europe in early 2027.

To improve comfort, Samsung used AI-assisted optimization and physics simulations based on more than 119 million ear data points. The design process helped refine the band shape, speaker placement, and battery layout, aiming for a secure, low-pressure fit across a wide variety of ear shapes.

The Galaxy Buds On feature Samsung’s Audio Leakage Reduction technology, which projects reverse sound waves from the rear of the speaker to reduce escaping audio. They are powered by the Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 Sound Platform and include three microphones per bud, along with a voice pickup unit that detects speech through bone and skin movement. This works with Intelligent Clear Call to isolate the user’s voice and reduce background noise.

Additional features include hands-free Gemini support, Quick Voice Memo, and head gestures for accepting or rejecting calls. Each earbud has an 11.3mm driver and a 61mAh battery, with Samsung estimating up to 9.5 hours of music playback or 5.5 hours of call time per charge. With the charging case, total usage can reach up to 38 hours for music or 25 hours for calls. Connectivity includes Bluetooth 6.2, support for Samsung Seamless Codec, AAC, SBC, and LC3, plus an IP54 rating for dust and sweat resistance.
