Infinix Note 70 Pro Geekbench Listing Reveals a Confusing Snapdragon Chip Mystery

Source: Date:

Introduction

The Infinix Note 70 Pro has surfaced on Geekbench, and the benchmark listing has made the phone’s chipset story more intriguing. Earlier leaks suggested the device would feature the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, but the latest test result points to hardware that does not fully match any known Qualcomm chip in that family.

The device, identified by model number X6766, was previously spotted in certification databases and DevCheck reports. Those appearances indicated that the Infinix Note 70 Pro could arrive with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. However, the Geekbench entry now tells a more complicated story.

Unusual chipset details appear in benchmark test

According to the listing, the phone uses a Qualcomm SM7635 chipset. The CPU configuration includes one core running at 2.96GHz, three cores at 2.71GHz, and four cores at 2.02GHz. The benchmark also identifies an Adreno 810 GPU, 8GB of RAM, and Android 17.

In performance tests, the device reportedly scored 1,145 points in the single-core benchmark and 3,523 points in the multi-core benchmark. These numbers suggest a solid mid-range performance level, but the real surprise is the chipset identification itself.

Why the chip does not match known Snapdragon models

The SM7635 designation is associated with both the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 and Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. However, neither of those chips fully matches the specifications seen in this Geekbench listing.

The Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 is said to top out at lower CPU clock speeds, while the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 does not pair with the Adreno 810 GPU. This mismatch has led to speculation that the Infinix Note 70 Pro may be testing a newer chip, possibly a future Snapdragon 7s Gen 5, or perhaps an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4.

What this could mean for the Note 70 Pro

If the device does launch with a newer or higher-clocked Snapdragon chipset, it would represent a meaningful upgrade over the Infinix Note 60 Pro, which uses the standard Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. That could make the Note 70 Pro more than just a battery-focused successor.

Another positive detail is the operating system. The Geekbench listing indicates that the phone is running Android 17, suggesting that it may ship with the latest Android version out of the box. That would be a welcome addition, especially as some devices still launch with older software versions.
