iPhone 18e Leak Points to A20 Chip 60Hz OLED Display and Camera Upgrades

Source: Date:

A fresh leak has offered an early look at Apple’s rumored iPhone 18e, suggesting the next budget-focused iPhone may keep much of the same formula while introducing a newer chipset and a better front camera. The report comes from tipster Digital Chat Station, who has previously discussed the device, and it points to a launch window that could align with Apple’s spring release schedule. Since the iPhone 17e arrived in March, a spring 2027 unveiling for the iPhone 18e would be consistent with the series’ pattern, especially if it appears beside the iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2.

According to the latest claim, the iPhone 18e will feature a 6.12-inch LTPS OLED display, but it will reportedly remain at a 60Hz refresh rate. That may disappoint users who were hoping Apple’s more affordable “e” line would finally move to a smoother panel. Inside, the phone is said to use the Apple A20 chipset, which is expected to be built on a 2nm process. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also previously linked the A20 to the device and mentioned 9GB of RAM.

For photography, the leak says the iPhone 18e will keep a single 48MP rear camera, matching the resolution of the iPhone 17e’s main shooter. However, the front camera may see a meaningful jump from 12MP to 24MP, which could improve selfies and video calls. Overall, the rumored specs suggest a modest generational update rather than a major redesign, unless Apple adds a larger battery or another surprise feature.
