vivo appears to be moving quickly in its S-series lineup. Although the vivo S60 was introduced in China only in May, fresh reports suggest that the next model, the vivo S70, is already in development and could arrive earlier than expected.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the upcoming vivo S70 is expected to support a teleconverter accessory. The phone is said to feature a 64MP Sony LYT610 periscope telephoto camera, which could make it one of the more interesting mid-premium devices in vivo’s S lineup.

The leak also claims that an early engineering sample of the vivo S70 was equipped with a 6.59-inch AMOLED LTPS screen offering 1.5K resolution. For performance, the device is rumored to use a chipset from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s family, most likely the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4.

In a follow-up comment, the tipster noted that vivo had experimented with a rear display on an early S70 engineering unit. However, the feature was reportedly canceled and will not be included in the final device.

If the latest claims are accurate, the vivo S70 could officially debut as soon as next month.
