Introduction: The tech industry is heading into a packed stretch of launches and market updates, with Oppo pushing its Find X10 flagship family worldwide and Apple preparing a major Mac event. Alongside those headlines, new devices from iQOO, Redmi, and vivo are surfacing, while Apple's latest iPhone repair program and India's slowing smartphone market add more context to the week's news.

Apple plans October 28 OLED MacBook reveal

Apple is reportedly getting ready to introduce its first touchscreen OLED MacBook Pro on October 28. The launch invitation is said to carry the tagline "Pro and tell," a phrase that lines up with expectations for a more interactive MacBook Pro experience. Reports also suggest an updated iMac and an OLED iPad mini could appear. The event is expected to be held in Los Angeles.

Oppo Find X10 and X10 Pro Max arrive worldwide

Oppo has taken the Find X10 and Find X10 Pro Max to global markets. The standard Find X10 is listed at €1,300/£1,100, while the Find X10 Pro Max reaches €1,800/£1,500. The Pro Max is positioned as the more advanced model with a reported 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset, a 6.78-inch 144Hz AMOLED panel, and a triple 200MP camera system. The regular Find X10 uses the Dimensity 9600M and dual 200MP cameras. Buyers in Europe should note that both models are shipping with 7,150mAh batteries, smaller than the 8,000mAh packs offered in China and some other regions.

iQOO Neo12 and Redmi K100 target October 28 launches

China's launch calendar is also filling up. The iQOO Neo12 is set for an October 28 debut in three colors: Fierce Edge, Shadow Black, and Frost Blade Blue. It is expected to feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform, a dedicated Q3 gaming chip, a 2K 185Hz AMOLED display, and a large 9,000mAh battery. Redmi has separately confirmed that the K100 will launch in China on the same date, bringing a 10,000mAh battery, 100W charging, Snapdragon 8 Elite silicon, and a 6.83-inch AMOLED screen.

Apple's iPhone Duo and repair parts news

Apple's iPhone Duo has started shipping, and its battery capacity is now known to be 4,883mAh. The foldable is reported to use dual lithium-ion cells. In related Apple service news, the company's Self Service Repair Store now offers parts and tools for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Replacement displays are priced at $329 for the Pro and $379 for the Pro Max, batteries are $129 before trade-in credits, and the new variable-aperture camera module is $249, with lower effective prices after returning old components.

India shipments fall and memory supply could raise prices

India's smartphone market recorded its weakest third quarter since 2016, with shipments dropping 26% year-on-year to 35.8 million units, according to Omdia. Samsung returned to the top position with 6.7 million units and a 19% share. vivo followed with 6.4 million, Oppo with 4.9 million, Xiaomi with 4.7 million, and Apple with 3.9 million. Higher prices and cautious spending were cited as major factors behind the decline.

Looking ahead, Samsung is reported to have signed major five-year memory supply agreements, reserving 70% of DRAM production and all of its HBM output for 2027. That could tighten supply and increase component costs, potentially making future devices such as the Galaxy S27 series more expensive. Leaked Galaxy S27 cases have also hinted at broad rear camera cutouts on the S27 Pro and Ultra, while vivo is rumored to introduce the Y600 next week with a huge 10,000mAh battery and Dimensity 7300e chipset.
