Huawei has already started taking pre-orders for the Pura 90 Plus in China, with the official launch scheduled for October 28. While the company has not yet shared full specifications, retail units have begun appearing in stores, and new hands-on images have revealed one of the phone’s most important upgrades.

Photos of the device’s About phone screen show that the Pura 90 Plus is equipped with Huawei’s new Kirin 9025 chipset. The listing also confirms 12GB of RAM, a 2848 x 1276 display resolution, HarmonyOS 7, and the model number LCI-AL00. The Pura 90 Plus is expected to be the first smartphone to feature the Kirin 9025, which is rumored to be an overclocked version of the Kirin 9020. Additional images highlight the handset’s curved body and triangular camera design in Sunset Purple.

Performance claims and rumored camera features

According to one tipster, the Pura 90 Plus provides around a 19% overall performance increase compared with the Pura 80 Pro, which uses the Kirin 9020. The same source claims the Kirin 9025 delivers performance close to the Kirin 9030S found in the Pura 90 Pro and Pura 90 Pro Max. These figures remain unverified until independent benchmark results become available.

Other leaks suggest the phone will feature a 6.8-inch curved 1.5K LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It may also include a 50MP 1-inch-type RYYB main camera with variable aperture, similar to the setup used in previous high-end Pura models. Huawei has already confirmed 12GB RAM options with 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of storage, as well as Dawn Gold, Obsidian Black, Sunset Purple, and Snowy White color choices. Remaining details, including pricing, are expected to be announced on October 28.
