OnePlus 16 poll shows strong reader interest despite limited availability

Introduction: The latest weekly poll suggests the OnePlus 16 has struck a chord with readers, even though its limited release may prevent many from buying it officially. The results point to a phone that could have performed well on a broader global stage.

According to the latest poll results, the OnePlus 16 has generated a surprisingly strong response from readers. A notable share of participants said they are considering importing the device, while interest remains especially high in India, one of only two markets, alongside China, where the phone will receive an official release.

The largest group of respondents, making up nearly a third of voters, said they are interested in the OnePlus 16 but do not want to deal with the complications of importing it from another country. Even the arrival of the Oppo Find X10 series does not appear to have weakened enthusiasm for the OnePlus 16, as many readers still view it as a highly compelling flagship.

Pricing remains a key talking point. The exact cost in India has not been confirmed, but the base 12GB/256GB version in China is listed at CNY 6,000, which is higher than last year’s top-tier 16GB/1TB OnePlus 15 at CNY 5,400. Still, only about 12% of poll participants called the price unreasonable, roughly the same share as those considering rival flagship phones.

Even so, the poll suggests it may already be too late for OnePlus to make a full return to the global market. That could leave Oppo, positioned as the more premium brand, and Realme, which skipped a GT-series flagship this year, to fill the gap for buyers looking for alternatives.
