Introduction: OnePlus has started the stable rollout of ColorOS 17 based on Android 17 for the OnePlus 15, marking the beginning of the company’s wider shift from OxygenOS to ColorOS. The first stable build is arriving in India, slightly ahead of the previously announced global timeline.

The update is identified by build number CPH2745_17.0.0.102(EX01). While OnePlus had indicated that eligible OnePlus devices would move to ColorOS with Android 17 in all regions, the current stable release is limited to India for now.

The biggest visual change in ColorOS 17 is a smoother, more responsive interface with updated lighting effects and animations. OnePlus says the new Luminous Rendering Engine powers the refreshed look, while the redesigned lock screen, Quick Settings, and notification panel aim to make daily use feel more consistent. The updated Laminar Flow Engine is intended to reduce slowdowns during heavy memory use and improve background app retention.

AI features are also a major part of the update. Mind Pilot gains an Agent mode that can handle multi-step tasks such as sorting photos and files automatically. The new OSee AI vision feature supports document scanning, while a new Translate app, AI face-swap detection for video calls, and AI-generated voice detection for scam calls are also included. In addition, ColorOS 17 allows audio from multiple apps to play simultaneously.

OnePlus’ global rollout schedule had placed the OnePlus 15 for October 29, so the Indian release arrives earlier than expected. The company has not yet confirmed when the stable ColorOS 17 build will reach OnePlus 15 users outside India.
