Huawei Pura 90 Plus Retail Leak Reveals Kirin 9025 Before Launch

Source: Date:

Huawei’s upcoming Pura 90 Plus is already showing up in retail spaces, offering an early look at the handset before its formal arrival. Although Huawei has not released complete specifications, store display units and new leaks are filling in some of the key details.

The company recently confirmed the Pura 90 Plus and began taking pre-orders in China ahead of its October 28 launch. Soon after, photos of in-store demo units started appearing online, revealing the phone’s curved body and triangular camera island in the Sunset Purple finish.

The most notable disclosure comes from an About phone screen seen on one demo unit. It reportedly lists the Kirin 9025 chipset, 12GB of RAM, a 2848x1276 display resolution, HarmonyOS 7, and the LCI-AL00 model number. That makes the Pura 90 Plus the first known smartphone to feature the Kirin 9025, which one tipster has described as an overclocked version of the Kirin 9020.

Another rumor claims the new device provides roughly a 19% performance increase over the Pura 80 Pro, which is powered by the Kirin 9020. The same source alleges that the Kirin 9025 performs close to the Kirin 9030S used in the Pura 90 Pro and Pura 90 Pro Max, though benchmark testing will be required to confirm those claims.

Additional leaks suggest the Pura 90 Plus will include a 6.8-inch curved 1.5K LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Previous reports also mention a 50MP 1-inch RYYB main camera with variable aperture, making it broadly similar to the Pura 80 Pro, which offered a comparable screen resolution and a 1-inch main sensor.

Huawei has already confirmed 12GB of RAM and storage choices of 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB. The phone is also expected in Dawn Gold, Obsidian Black, Sunset Purple, and Snowy White. Remaining details, including pricing, should be revealed on October 28.
