The much-anticipated vivo X Fold6 has officially arrived in India, following its launch in China. Showcasing an impressive blend of design and functionality, this foldable smartphone is now available in the stunning Nebula Teal colorway, alongside the classic Prism Black. We had the opportunity to explore the Nebula Teal model, and here's what you can expect from this premium offering.
The retail packaging for the Nebula Teal X Fold6 mirrors that of the global variant, boasting a sleek design and complete unboxing experience. Inside, you’ll find a SIM ejector tool, user documentation, a charging cable, a 100W power adapter, and a color-matching phone case. Vivo's decision to include a power adapter in the package is commendable and ultimately enhances the overall premium experience.
The Nebula Teal model features a striking 6.51-inch cover display equipped with a centered punch-hole for a 20MP selfie camera. With an LTPO 8T AMOLED panel, the screen offers a 120Hz refresh rate and an impressive 5,000 nits of local peak brightness, but lacks an in-display fingerprint scanner, relying instead on a side-mounted scanner. This marks a notable change from the X Fold3 Pro, which included scanners on both displays.
Upon powering up the device, the captivating default wallpaper immediately captures your attention, harmonizing beautifully with the Nebula Teal hue. Vivo emphasizes that this color draws inspiration from the serene transition at dawn when the sea and sky converge—an elegant touch that sets it apart from the more subdued wallpaper on the Prism Black variant.
When unfolded, the X Fold6 reveals an expansive 8.02-inch LTPO 8T AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2,504x2,312 pixels. The selfie camera remains at the top right corner, ensuring a seamless user experience on this larger screen.
On the rear, the device sports a sophisticated circular camera island housing a 200MP primary camera, along with a 50MP telephoto lens and a 50MP ultrawide lens, all featuring ZEISS T* coating. The design elements are thoughtfully crafted; the camera island's chamfered edges complement the phone's overall aesthetic.
Unlike its Prism Black counterpart, the Nebula Teal model boasts a smooth glass back that is resistant to smudges. The color displays an attractive interplay of different shades that change with light, creating a visually pleasing effect.
For added protection, the bundled phone case features a rubbery finish that improves grip, although it may attract dust easily. The design is stylish and maintains the phone's aesthetics.
The overall build quality of the vivo X Fold6 Nebula Teal is impressive, offering a premium feel. However, due to the camera island's protrusion, handling the device may be challenging for some users with one hand.
The vivo X Fold6 will be available for purchase starting October 13 in India through vivo's website, Amazon.in, Flipkart, and selected retail stores. Offered in a single configuration of 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, the pricing stands at INR 219,999.
