As all eyes turn toward Samsung’s next tablet lineup, the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, a wave of leaks has provided insight into their promising specifications and features. With upgrades that include a more efficient processor and better battery life, these tablets aim to solidify Samsung's position in the premium tablet market. Here’s a closer look at what we can expect from these upcoming devices.
Both tablets will be equipped with the Dimensity 9500 chipset, replacing the older Dimensity 9400+ found in the Tab S11 Ultra and the Dimensity 9300+ used in the Tab S10+. Notably absent this year is the “plus” variant; MediaTek has not released a 9500+ chipset, although there are other variants like the Dimensity 9600M and Dimensity 9600 Pro, which do not offer substantial changes.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra
The Galaxy Tab S12+ comes with a single 13MP wide camera on the rear, a downgrade from the dual-camera setup featured on the Tab S10+. In contrast, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra retains its dual cameras—12MP wide and 8MP ultra-wide—alongside a 12MP front camera. The Ultra sports a 14.6” display that includes a notch for the selfie camera, while the Tab S12+ has a 12.4” display without a notch, opting for thicker bezels instead.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S12+
The Tab S12 Ultra measures just 5.1mm in thickness, equipped with a robust 11,600mAh battery and supports 45W charging. The Tab S12+, however, will feature a slightly upgraded 10,600mAh battery compared to the 10,090mAh of the Tab S10+, also supporting 45W charging. The new “plus” model is 0.3mm thinner, measuring 5.3mm.
Recent EPREL labels released by Roland Quandt indicate that both tablets’ batteries have a durability rating of 1,200 charge cycles. The battery life for the Tab S12 Ultra has decreased to 88:54 hours, while the Tab S12+ shows an improvement, lasting 80:34 hours—up from the Tab S10+'s 73:44 hours. This increase can likely be attributed to the more energy-efficient chipset.
Leaked Pricing Information
