In a significant advancement for mobile technology, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chips have been officially unveiled, leading to a flurry of announcements from prominent Android manufacturers eager to incorporate these powerful processors into their upcoming devices.
Xiaomi takes the lead with its much-anticipated 18 series, featuring the standard 8 Elite Gen 6 in the 18 Pro, while the 18 Pro Max will showcase the Extreme variant. Both models are set to make their debut later today in China.
Honor is also onboard, integrating the high-performance 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 into its Magic9 Pro Max, which is slated for launch on September 28.
Following soon after, the iQOO 16 and Pad Ultra are confirmed to utilize the Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip, with launch plans for September 29. Furthermore, the brand has indicated that more vivo devices will adopt this flagship processor in future iterations.
RedMagic is also set to join the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme movement with the launch of its 12Pro+ model, expected in October.
Additionally, OnePlus has confirmed that its flagship OnePlus 16 will feature the Elite version of the new chip. Motorola is not far behind, as its upcoming Signature 27 will also be powered by the Extreme variant, with a launch expected later this year.
