Introducing the Nothing Ear (3a): Advanced ANC and 42-Hour Battery Life

The UK-based company Nothing has launched its latest true wireless earbuds, the Nothing Ear (3a), alongside the Nothing Phone (4b).

These earbuds feature an in-ear design with new silicone ear tips available in an extra small size. Each earbud is equipped with a 12mm dynamic driver, boasting up to 5dB stronger bass compared to the previous model, the Ear (a).

The Ear (3a) includes active noise cancellation (ANC) capable of reducing noise by up to 45dB, as well as a Transparency mode and support for Spatial Audio.

Each earbud is equipped with three microphones featuring AI-driven noise reduction. A new audio recording function allows users to record up to one minute of audio directly to the earbuds using the built-in 32MB of storage, including 30 seconds of sound prior to the recording starting.

With ANC activated, the Nothing Ear (3a) offers up to six hours of playback on a single charge and up to 25 hours when using the charging case. Disabling ANC extends the playback time to up to 10 hours on the earbuds, and a total of 42 hours with the case.

Fast charging is also supported, with a five-minute charge providing approximately one hour of playback. The earbuds utilize Bluetooth 6.0 and feature Google Fast Pair, as well as support for SBC, AAC, and LDAC audio codecs.

While the Ear (3a) maintains a design similar to the previous model, the charging case has been redesigned with a more rounded shape and improved status light.

The Nothing Ear (3a) is available in Black, Pink, White, and Yellow and is priced at $99 (£99/€99).
