Samsung has rolled out the stable update of One UI 8.5, based on Android 16, for the Galaxy A26 this past May. Now, the company has initiated the development of One UI 9, which is based on Android 17, for this smartphone.

Currently, Samsung's One UI 9 beta program is only available for the Galaxy S26 series, which has seen three beta updates so far. Although a timeline for the release of beta and stable builds for the remaining devices is still unknown, it has been confirmed that Samsung's upcoming foldable smartphones will be the first to ship with One UI 9 pre-installed. These new devices are expected to be unveiled on July 22 during an event held in London.
