Oppo Enco Air5 Review: Unboxing and First Impressions

Source: Date:

We recently received Oppo's latest Enco Air5 and Enco Air5s for an unboxing event, beginning with the Enco Air5. This in-ear bud features active noise cancellation and is positioned just below the Enco Air5 Pro, although both models share the same 12mm dynamic driver and triple microphones.

The Air5 is available in two colors: Glossy White and Midnight Black, and it comes with three sets of silicone eartips.

Upon comparing the specifications of the new Enco Air5 with the outgoing Enco Air5 Pro, there are minimal differences, with the Pro model being the only one that supports LHDC 5.0. The Enco Air5, like its counterparts, features tap controls for play/pause and active noise cancellation adjustment, but lacks the sliding volume control found in the Enco Air5 Pro and Air5s models.

The Air5 boasts the same 12mm dynamic driver, offering up to 54 hours of battery life via its 530mAh case (each bud has an additional 62mAh), and delivers 53dB of noise cancellation.

In terms of comfort, the Enco Air5 fits snugly in the ear. While in-ear buds are not to everyone's liking, I personally find them comfortable. However, it's worth noting the absence of sliding gesture controls on the Air5, which is disappointing since both the Enco Air5 Pro and Air5s include this feature. Sliding controls provide a convenient way to adjust volume, a feature many users grow accustomed to.

The sound quality of the Air5 is impressive, offering ample volume with strong treble and midrange frequencies. However, there is a lack of bass initially. The active noise cancellation feature performs well.

Comfortable fit, tap for controls.
