Today in China, Redmi officially unveiled the K90 Ultra, putting an end to months of leaks, rumors, and speculation surrounding the device. The K90 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and features a built-in active cooling fan, which is designed to reduce temperature by up to 10°C, ensuring that prolonged gaming sessions do not lead to throttling. Additionally, it includes a standalone D2 interpolation chip specifically for gaming.
The device showcases a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280x2772, a 165Hz refresh rate, peak brightness of 3,500 nits, and full array DC dimming capabilities. Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the 50MP main camera with OIS, which utilizes a 1/1.55" type sensor, alongside an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 20MP front-facing camera.
The smartphone is powered by a robust 8,550mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging. The K90 Ultra comes bundled with a 100W GaN charger. Featuring dual symmetrical stereo speakers tuned by Bose, the device also boasts IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. It operates on HyperOS 3, based on Android 16.
The K90 Ultra is available in Space Silver, Shadow Black, and Sky Blue. The standard price starts at CNY 2,999 ($441) for the model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage; however, a promotional offer is currently available, allowing customers to receive 16GB of RAM for the same price. The 12/512GB variant is priced at CNY 3,499 ($515), while the flagship 16/512GB model retails for CNY 3,699 ($544).

It is unlikely that the Redmi K90 Ultra will be officially released outside of China. The best possibility is that a similar device may launch under the Poco brand in the upcoming months. However, it is advisable not to hold your breath for that.
