Qualcomm has confirmed that its annual Snapdragon Summit will take place from September 22 to 24 in Maui, Hawaii.
Though the company has yet to disclose the specific announcements planned for the event, it is anticipated that Qualcomm will unveil a successor to last year's flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, tentatively named Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 (SM8950).
Additionally, there are rumors that Qualcomm may present another mobile platform, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro (SM8975).
Recent leaks suggest that Qualcomm is also developing two chips built on a 3nm process: the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5XX version (SM8850Q) and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Pro (SM8845 Pro).
Last year, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 were officially launched with the part numbers SM8850 and SM8845, respectively. The specific differences between the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5XX and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 remain unclear, so further details are awaited to clarify its capabilities.
