The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Flip8 series are on the horizon, generating considerable excitement as leaks continue to emerge. The latest revelations from a reliable source detail some key specifications of the Galaxy Z Fold8.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 key features revealed

For those who may not be up to date, it's important to note that the new Galaxy Z Fold8 is not a direct successor to last year's Galaxy Z Fold7. Instead, it represents the previously anticipated "Galaxy Fold Wide," which will replace the standard variant, while the real successor to the Z Fold7 will be the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. Samsung reportedly decided to revise their naming strategy back in May.

The leaked information indicates that the Z Fold8 will feature a 7.6-inch main display with a 4:3 aspect ratio and QHD+ resolution. In addition, the cover screen will measure 5.5 inches diagonally, with QHD+ resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio.

The camera setup on the device is relatively modest, comprising a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a 50MP ultrawide camera with an f/1.9 aperture. Additionally, a 10MP f/2.2 selfie camera is expected to appear on both displays.

Powering the device will be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy SoC, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage.

The entire hardware system will be supported by a 4,800 mAh battery, which will offer 45W fast wired charging and 15W wireless charging capabilities.

According to reports, the device will measure 123.9 x 81.9 x 9.7mm when folded, and 123.9 x 161.4 x 4.5mm when unfolded. This design will make the Z Fold8 thicker than the Galaxy Z Fold7 in both configurations, but at just 201g, it will be noticeably lighter.

Most of these specifications have been corroborated by previous leaks, suggesting we are on the right track as we await the official announcement in July.
