While perhaps not the most obvious integration, Google Wallet's new feature for tracking packages is indeed a useful addition. This isn't the first time Google has ventured into package tracking; the now-retired Google Now, which transformed into the Google Discover feed, previously offered similar capabilities.

The concept is straightforward: Google scans your Gmail inbox to automatically identify digital receipts and tracking numbers, which it then uses to display parcel tracking information within the Google Wallet interface. Packages that are soon to arrive are prominently featured on the home screen alongside your payment methods. Additionally, you can access detailed tracking information and dismiss a package once it has arrived. The system likely removes packages from the dashboard automatically after delivery, without interfering with the package-related emails in your Gmail account.
However, there are some limitations to this feature at present. It is currently available only in the United States. While Google claims the feature supports most major retailers and their respective email formats, it may not universally accommodate all purchases from smaller stores. To enable this functionality, you must navigate to your Gmail settings and ensure that "Google Workspace smart features" are fully activated.
