As Apple ventures into the foldable market with its upcoming iPhone Ultra, a striking contrast has emerged in its production orders compared to its traditional lineup. This cautious approach may reflect Apple's understanding of the challenges and potential demand volatility associated with new technology.

The iPhone 18 Pro duo, along with Apple's first foldable phone, the iPhone Ultra, is set to be a focal point for the company. While the iPhone 18 series may deliver only incremental updates over the highly praised iPhone 17 series, many are curious if Apple can replicate its previous market successes. Predictions suggest that the iPhone 18 could easily secure a spot on the list of the best iPhones, even with anticipated price increases between $50 and $300.

How Many Display Panels Will Be Ordered?

  • Samsung Display
  • LG Display
According to rumors, Samsung Display is positioned to be the exclusive supplier of OLED panels for several Apple devices, including:
  • iPad mini – 2 million display panels
  • Foldable iPhone (i.e., iPhone Ultra) – 10 million display panels
  • MacBook Pro – unspecified number of panels.
  • Apple Watch 12 series – 34 million
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to follow suit with significantly higher panel orders.
