Rivian has released its Q2 delivery report, exceeding initial expectations of 9,000 to 11,000 vehicles. The Normal, Illinois facility produced 12,613 vehicles and delivered 12,194 during this period.

Although Rivian is still a relatively small player in the automotive market, it has made significant progress in addressing supply chain challenges. The company's commitment to under-promising and over-delivering is commendable.
As a result of surpassing its initial delivery targets, Rivian has revised its full-year 2026 delivery guidance, increasing it from a range of 62,000-67,000 units to 65,000-70,000 vehicles. A comprehensive financial report for Q2 2026 is scheduled for release on July 30, so stay tuned.
The launch of the more affordable Rivian R2 has likely contributed to this success. Anticipated sales of the R2 are expected to increase in the next quarter, as production ramps up and additional variations become available.
Recent spy shots indicate that the LiDAR-equipped R2 is on the horizon. It is likely that many potential buyers are waiting for the LiDAR option to be available in the configurator, which could further boost sales in Q3, assuming Rivian launches this feature in time.
