Apple's Foldable iPhone Ultra Production Goal Reaches 10 Million Units Ahead of Launch

The anticipated foldable iPhone, reportedly named the iPhone Ultra, is set to be unveiled alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series this September. A new report indicates that Apple has raised its production order to approximately 10 million units.

A Nikkei Asia report, citing insider sources, states that Apple has instructed its suppliers to produce about 10 million foldable iPhones by 2026.

Previously, reports suggested an initial production goal of 7 to 8 million units.

Furthermore, the report reveals that Apple has requested suppliers to manufacture an additional 70 million units of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. This brings the total production target for the new iPhone lineup in 2026 to approximately 220 million units.

Additionally, the report states that Apple has instructed certain suppliers to prepare for supplementary orders totaling up to 85 million units in the latter half of 2026. The company has also requested its partners to reserve specific components from the iPhone 17 for the upcoming iPhone 18 series.

The Apple iPhone Ultra, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, is expected to be announced on September 8. Rumors suggest that the foldable iPhone will have a starting price of around $2,500, with higher storage options costing up to $3,000.
