Today, Spotify launched a new feature called Reserved in the United States. This initiative allows Spotify to hold two concert tickets for an artist's most dedicated fans, offering them an opportunity to secure tickets ahead of the general sale.
While the company hasn’t disclosed the exact criteria for determining eligibility, it aims to avoid encouraging strategic engagement. Eligibility is based on various factors such as streams, saves, shares, and location, ensuring that tickets reach fans most likely to attend.
If you qualify for tickets to a specific artist, your Reserved offer will appear on your Spotify home screen. You will also receive a notification and an email regarding this offer. To avoid missing out, ensure your app is updated, your location is set in your Live Events feed, and notifications for live concerts and events are turned on.
Reserved offers can be found in Search, on the artist's page, in your Live Events feed, and in the Now Playing view, making it highly unlikely that you'll miss them. Once your Reserved window opens, simply tap 'Buy Now' to select up to two tickets for an eligible tour date.
The Reserved window is typically open for around a day, allowing you to purchase your tickets at any point during that time. However, to secure your preferred date, location, and seating, it’s advisable to buy as early as possible. After selecting your tickets, you will be directed to Ticketmaster to complete the checkout process.
You might need to connect your Spotify account with Ticketmaster for this step. For certain high-demand shows, you may have to wait in a queue before accessing the ticket selection page. Regardless, two tickets will be held for you throughout the Reserved window, though if you’re at the back of the queue, you may not secure your preferred seats. You will receive some available seats but not necessarily the ones you wanted.
Reserved allows you to purchase tickets for any eligible date on the tour, not just the nearest show. The allocations include a variety of seating options and prices, with availability differing by show. Unclaimed Reserved tickets will be offered to the next most dedicated eligible fans. This feature is available for select artists and tours exclusively for Spotify Premium subscribers aged 18 and older.
