Spotify has launched a new feature called Reserved in the US, designed to offer advance concert tickets to the platform's most dedicated fans. This initiative allows fans to secure tickets before they become available to the general public.
While Spotify hasn't disclosed specific criteria for selecting eligible fans to receive these special offers, it does consider "a wide range of signals like streams, saves, and shares, as well as location." The emphasis on location ensures that tickets reach fans who are likely to attend the concert.
If you qualify for a Reserved offer for a specific artist, you will see it on your Spotify home screen, accompanied by notifications via email and app alerts. To enhance your chances of receiving these offers, make sure to enable notifications for live concerts and events, update your app, and set your location in the Live Events feed.
The Reserved offer can also be discovered through Search, the artist's page, your Live Events feed, and the Now Playing view, making it easy to find when available. Once your Reserved window opens, simply tap "Buy now" to select up to two tickets for a date on the tour where you are eligible.
Your purchase window typically lasts about a day, and you can buy the tickets at any time during this period. However, to secure your preferred date, location, and seating, it's advisable to make your purchase as early as possible. After selecting your tickets, you will be redirected to Ticketmaster to finalize your checkout.
You might need to link your Spotify account to Ticketmaster for this process. For popular shows, there may be a queue before you reach the ticket selection page. While Reserved holds two tickets for you during your window, if you join the queue late, you may not get your preferred seats for the show. You will be offered available seats instead.
The Reserved feature allows you to purchase tickets for any eligible date in the tour, not just the nearest show. It includes a variety of seating options and prices, with availability varying by performance. Unclaimed Reserved tickets will be released to the next eligible fans. This feature is currently available for select artists and tours, exclusively for Spotify Premium subscribers aged 18 and older.
