Xreal has unveiled its latest product, the Aura glasses, which are designed for spatial computing and operate on Android XR. This platform supports a wide variety of applications right from the start.
The Aura glasses feature an Optical See-Through (OST) display with a 70-degree field of view. This virtual display is generated by two Sony Micro-OLED screens boasting a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The transparent displays allow users to see their environment clearly, ensuring that those around them can also see their eyes. For enhanced focus on on-screen content, an electrochromic dimming function is included.

The glasses utilize a split design, with the newly announced Snapdragon Reality Elite chipset housed in a separate “compute puck.” This puck runs Android XR and facilitates your applications. Two configurations are available: 12GB RAM with 256GB storage and 16GB RAM with 512GB storage.
The Xreal Aura glasses and compute puckThe compute puck houses a 4,455 mAh battery (34.84Wh), which alleviates weight from the glasses. Inside, the Aura glasses feature the Xreal X1S spatial co-processor, which manages low-latency processing, sensors, and display functions.
The glasses are equipped with 6 degrees of freedom (DoF) tracking and include cameras with an LED indicator to alert those around when the cameras are active. Alongside voice command functionality for Gemini, hand tracking serves as the primary input method. There are two USB-C ports: one connects to the glasses, while the other can be used for external power or video input (DisplayPort).
